About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a roof replacement project at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Siuslaw River in Florence, Oregon. The project requires replacing existing cedar roof tiles with high-quality red architectural asphalt shingles (similar to IKO Dynasty Performance Shingles) on a facility with two roof faces approximately 22' high by 50' wide, each containing 4 dormers. The contractor must field verify existing roofing framing, remove and dispose of old roofing materials, inspect and replace damaged roof decking/plywood, and ensure the new roofing is suitable for extreme Oregon coastal weather conditions.

The SOW includes detailed requirements for contractor security, site access, work hours, safety protocols, and site management. Key provisions cover personnel identification, work timing (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday), notification procedures, recycling and disposal of materials, and using regional materials within a 250-mile radius. The contractor must maintain a safe work environment, comply with OSHA safety standards, provide their own sanitary facilities, and be responsible for protecting stockpiled materials and verifying existing utility locations. Water and 120V electricity will be available at no cost, but the contractor must manage utility connections.
