The contractor must perform calibration after each recertification cycle, including adjustment, correction, error identification, and corrective actions as needed. Calibration shall consist of comparing the device under test with a calibration standard traceable to national or international standards.
The contractor shall deliver a certificate of calibration for each unit containing certificate number, operator name/initials, calibration date, unit specifications (type, manufacturer, model, serial number), adjustment or service performed, calibration results, and calibration procedure description. Additionally, the contractor must apply a decal to the unit indicating the calibration date, operator name/initials, next calibration due date, unit serial number, and company name. Decals must be applied without damaging the equipment or obstructing display readings. If visual and functional inspections reveal repair requirements, the contractor must submit a repair quotation to the Contracting Officer for approval before proceeding, including descriptions of discrepancies, labor hours per discipline, parts costs, total costs per discrepancy, and estimated turnaround time. The quotation must be valid for thirty days. The Contracting Officer will respond within thirty days with approval or declination. If approved, the contractor receives the quoted turnaround time to complete repairs; if declined, the contractor is authorized only the firm-fixed evaluation and calibration price established in the order. The USCG is not liable for any contractor expenses exceeding the applicable firm-fixed price without prior written Contracting Officer authorization.
