About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract to procure four electric drive motors, four motor controllers, and one calibrator. The objective is to develop an electric-powered autonomous driving platform to enhance the mobility of a robot system within a Controlled Environment System. The required specifications for the motors include an operating temperature range of 0 to 75°F, an IP66 or higher housing classification, a minimum torque output of 800 Nm, a maximum driving speed of less than 150 RPM, and the integration of a currentless brake.
The associated federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quote (RFQ) with solicitation number 12505B25Q0007, issued by the Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service for the Midwest Area. The government is seeking the required items to be delivered within 60 days of award. The contract will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quote that also has satisfactory past performance. This is a Total Small Business set-aside with a NAICS code of 335313 (Switchgear and Switchboard Apparatus Manufacturing).

Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Electric Motor Drive
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: An unmanned driving platform is essential to enhance the mobility of the robot system within the Controlled Environment System (CES), enabling more practical operations. However, existing commercial driving platforms often face usability challenges due to the confined spaces within CES.
Therefore, the objective is to develop an electric-powered autonomous driving platform comprising four DC servo motors. Intent is to procure 4 electric drive motors along with controller and calibrator.
2.0 Background: The adoption of a robot system is a strategic response to the ongoing challenges within CES.
However, relying solely on a robot system may not suffice for executing practical farm operations. The development of a reliable and robust mobile platform technology is equally crucial. An unmanned driving platform integrated with a robot system can not only perform autonomous farm practices but also incorporate precision technologies such as disease data collection.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: Provide and deliver four electric drive motors with 4 controllers and 1 calibrator. The following are the specifications required:
• Operating Temperature Range: 0 to 75°F.
