About this file

This is a Statement of Need (SON) for the replacement of a rectifier-inverter system at Buckley Space Force Base. The Department of the Air Force Space Command seeks a contractor to replace the existing power distribution and backup power system, which currently supplies 2,800 amps (200 amps across 14 units). The replacement rectifier must meet or exceed this capacity, and the contractor shall install battery units equivalent to or better than the existing C&D Technologies MS Endur II batteries, maintaining the current configuration of 3 strings with 48 jars per string. Each battery string requires disconnect units equivalent to or better than the existing Peco II units rated at -48v and 1800 amps.

The system must distribute power from three sources—commercial power, battery power, and generator power—to a new DC breaker panel and feed loads A, B, C, D, E, and F sectors. The power distribution system must meet or exceed the specifications of the existing Lorain Power System Model 1231v1. Additionally, the inverter system must be compatible with the existing DC breaker panels and AC circuits within the node facility. Primary points of contact for the Sources Sought are 2d Lt Maurice Epps (maurice.epps@spaceforce.mil) and TSgt Matthew Kennedy (matthew.kennedy.24@us.af.mil).
