About this file
This is a Statement of Need for the procurement of medical imaging equipment by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital Dermatology Laser Department in Tampa, Florida requires one DAMAE Medical Video Dermoscope with AI-Assistant software to enhance dermatological diagnostic capabilities. The device must integrate seamlessly with the facility's existing DAMAE Medical Deep Live Imaging Medical Device that uses LC-OCT technology for 3D imaging. The Video Dermoscope will enable advanced skin condition diagnosis, early detection of skin cancers, and improved workflow efficiency through non-invasive, high-resolution imaging with customizable AI-supported assessments.
The equipment specifications require an optical resolution of less than 4 micrometers, a field of view of 1.4 x 0.9 centimeters, a frame rate of 10 frames per second, integrated white LED light emissions (Risk Group 0), and a handheld probe with polarization mode capability and ambidextrous grip design. Delivery must occur within 30 calendar days after receipt of order to the Dermatology Clinic at 12210 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, Tampa, Florida 33612, with installation during normal business hours and implementation training to follow. No electrical or data modifications to existing VA systems are required, as the device operates as a standalone accessory component. The related Sources Sought Notice (Solicitation Number 36C24826Q0579) indicates this is pre-solicitation market research with responses due by April 24, 2026, requesting information on manufacturer capability, business size status, prior government contract experience, evidence of technical capability with product documentation, country of origin, and authorized distributor authorization if applicable.
