About this file
The Statement of Legal Eligibility document outlines the statutory requirements for nonprofit organizations applying to the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program grant. Applicants must demonstrate legal eligibility by selecting one of two options: either be a 501(c)(3) organization applying directly or use a Fiscal Agent as a legal applicant. The document requires the legal applicant to sign and certify their eligibility to receive federal funds, with specific instructions to list the organization's name, representative, and identification numbers on the SF-424 form.
The related grant opportunity, administered by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, focuses on establishing and strengthening community collaborations to prevent youth substance abuse. The DFC Support Program, authorized by the Drug-Free Communities Act of 1997, aims to reduce substance use among youth and adults by addressing community risk factors. The grant is part of the Drug-Free Communities Support Program Grants (CFDA Number 93.276) for Fiscal Year 2025, targeting community coalitions working to prevent substance abuse among individuals 18 years of age and younger.
