Q1.It mentions in the Statement of Work Document item 3.9 that the towers shall be delivered within 4 weeks after po and installation completion within
5-6 weeks from the P.O date, which is practically impossible.
A1.The timeline is considered a part of the technical acceptability of a bid.
Q2. Is it possible for the Contractor to propose their existing 60 m Commercial Tower design that meets the same form , fit and function as the proposed drawings which is designed for 160km windspeed for safety)? Are alternative designs acceptable for a Proposal response with Commercial Offer?
A2.Proposing Similar towers of the approximate geometry is preferred to prototyping a custom tower.
Q3.It seems as if we will supply and install;
1 x 60m ss tower (4 leg) – (there is a tower layout at your documents, but most probably that tower with given members belong to a specific manufacturer’ s tower family. We can manufacture the same tower with the given dimensions and member sizes but the brand new tower manufacturing drawings and the prototyping will take long.
Question: is is possible to propose a similar tower of the Contractors having more or less a similar geometry?
If so, can you please describe a wind speed and equivalent antenna area. Will it be the same design conditions for 12 m towers? (Safety concerns : But my experience 100 km/hr basic wind speed is very low, general it is taken around 160 kph ?? at that geography)
A3.Proposing Similar towers of the approximate geometry is preferred to prototyping a custom tower.
2 x 12 m for the HF SSB antenna for the rooftop. Design specs indicated on the drawings.
Don’t worry about HF antenna, cabling or towers, that project is already completed.
30 m hot dip galv. cable ladder as described.
Q4. Any photos from the 60m site to see if the landt is available for excavation, installation etc.?
A4. No, we do not have photographs of the land. We will have a conference at the site location for prospective bidders on Monday, September 10th at 11:00 AM. Limited photography will be permitted during the visit. All photos will need to be cleared through our security section before they can be taken off the compound.
Q5.Are there any soil reports at the close location of the 60 m site or we will need to make it?
A5. No, we do not have soil reports to share with bidders. You should include the reports and inspections you need to do in your proposal.
Q6. Around 100 m 7/8 RF cable and connectors, grounding fort he antenna system on 60m tower?
A6.Yes, low loss 7/8” cable is recommended for the VHF antennas on the 60m tower.
Q7. Grounding and LP system fort the 60m and 2x12 m towers (copper or galv steel A7.Only worry about the 60m tower, the HF system has already been built. Copper is preferred for grounding.
Red and White paint for the towers, Aircraft warning light for 60m tower, Q8.What cable for 2 x 12 m for the HF SSB antenna system?? Who supplies?
A8.Please disregard the HF antenna, cabling or towers, that project is already completed.
Q9. What will be supplied for the antenna systems by the customer and by us, this not very clear?
A9.We already have 3 of the VHF antennas: Sinclair SD2352-SF2PASNM(D00B) Exposed dipole array, 6/8.5 dBd, field adj., 138-174 MHz (SRL2352NM*2).
