Questions & Answers #5 LES Health and Life Insurance Services Solicitation - SSN10016R0002 July 25, 2016
1. In reference to page 15 section C.1.1.2 - 100% coverage of doctors’ and surgeons’ fees at a hospital on an outpatient basis $900 Per Illness. Since the above benefit does not refer to inpatient / day surgery admission and it is on an outpatient basis, please provide examples or situations in which this benefit will be applicable and claimable. In what way, will this benefit be different from a day surgery admission?
An employee will be an inpatient if this employee is formally admitted to a hospital with a doctor's order while out-patient is when the doctor hasn't written an order for the employee to be admitted to a hospital as an inpatient. Day/inpatient surgery admission fee will be covered under doctors' and surgeons' fees when they are hospitalized.
