About this file

This Scope of Work document outlines interchange improvement specifications for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) project on State Route 29 (US 27) in Hamilton County, Tennessee, specifically addressing widening of the exit ramp from SR29 NB to SR153 at Lane Mile 10.87. The project involves expanding the exit ramp from one 16-foot lane with a 10-foot left-right shoulder to two 12-foot lanes with a 10-foot right-left shoulder. The scope of work encompasses traffic control plan submission and implementation to TDOT standards with barrier rail installation, excavation and pavement removal, base stone preparation and compaction, median improvements on SR153 including replacement of pavement markings and installation of 85 feet of Tuff Curb with thermoplastic striping, and exit ramp improvements on SR29 NB including eight feet of concrete widening with anti-skid aggregate, full-depth left shoulder replacement, installation of directional arrows and channelization, and comprehensive sign and striping replacement throughout the work area. One lane of traffic must remain open on the exit ramp at all times during construction, and all work must comply with TDOT's Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (January 1, 2021).

The document requires that contractors submit competitive bids and acknowledge their familiarity with site conditions, local circumstances, and project plans prior to bid submission. All contractor labor, equipment, traffic control devices, and materials necessary for project completion are the contractor's responsibility. The project requires seed and straw application to disturbed areas, Snow plowable Raised Pavement Markers installation per standard drawing T-M-1, and site demobilization with removal of all trash and debris. No specific contract award date, pricing information, funding source, set-asides, site visit requirements, or bidder's conference details are provided within this scope of work document.
