EACH BRAKE CHAMBER STATING "BRAKES CAGED, UNCAGE BRAKES BEFORE INSTALLATION."

PLACE CAPS, REMOVED FROM BRAKE CHAMBERS DURING THE CAGING PROCESS, INTO A BAG CONFORMING TO MIL-DTL-117, STYLE 2, TYPE III, CLASS B, SIZE 8 X 10. CLOSURE: HEAT SEAL. SECURE BAG TO ONE OF THE BRAKE CHAMBERS WITH TAPE .

C. FILL AXLE DIFFERENTIAL OPERATING LEVEL WITH OPERATING FLUID. ROTATE BRAKE DRUMS TO PROVIDE PROTECTION TO THE INTERNAL PARTS OF THE AXLE ASSEMBLY AND SEAL ALL OPENINGS. ATTACH A TAG TO EACH END OF AXLE STATING "RESERVOIRS ARE FILLED

WITH SAE J2360 GRADE 80W-90 OPERATING LUBRICANT."

D. APPLY PRESERVATIVE TO ALL UNPAINTED EXTERIOR SURFACES EXCEPT THE U-JOINT YOKE. PRESERVE ALL UNPAINTED SURFACES

OF BRACKET "C".

E. APPLY PRESERVATIVE TO UNPAINTED SURFACES OF THE U-JOINT YOKE INCLUDING THE THREADED HOLES. WRAP WITH MIL-PRF-121, TYPE II AND SECURE WITH TAPE. NOTE: MANUFACTURER'S PLASTIC PROTECTIVE CAPS ARE ACCEPTABLE AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO

THE USE OF WRAP.

F. ALL OPENED PORTS SHALL BE SEALED WITH CAPS / PLUGS CONFORMING TO NAS 847 IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1C.

MANUFACTURER'S CAPS / PLUGS ARE ACCEPTABLE.

G. WRAP EACH WHEEL STUD AND SECURE WITH TAPE. NOTE: MANUFACTURER'S CAPS ARE ACCEPTABLE.
