About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Solicitation #SPPD23150 issued by the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR), which serves as the State's comprehensive planning agency. The RFI seeks insights, ideas, and recommendations from the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems on strengthening collaboration between California state government agencies and the UC/CSU systems. The intended outcomes include streamlining partnerships through contract agreements, formalizing faculty/staff engagement in research and non-research projects, creating short-term appointment opportunities, developing programs to foster connections between UCs/CSUs and Community-Based Organizations/industry/philanthropy, organizing workshops and training, and facilitating networking events. The RFI is open to the public, but OPR is particularly interested in responses from individuals or affiliates within the UC, CSU, CSU auxiliary organizations, California community college foundations, and Student Aid Commission auxiliary organizations.
The RFI does not result in a contract, but a future contract will be made with a CSU or UC university using the California Model Agreement. Respondents are asked to provide detailed responses addressing the current state of collaboration, recommendations for activating collaboration, and the roles and entities within the UC/CSU systems that can support the partnership. Additional questions focus on measuring success, proposing a roadmap, and identifying successful models of academic-government partnerships.
