About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) from the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR), the California Strategic Growth Council (SGC), and the California Volunteers (CV). The RFI seeks insights, ideas, and recommendations from the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems on how to strengthen the collaboration between these academic institutions and California state government agencies. The main objectives are to understand current incentives, opportunities, and barriers for active collaboration, identify methods to activate and promote such collaboration, and determine which UC/CSU entities can facilitate the partnerships. The intended outcomes include streamlining partnerships, formalizing faculty/staff engagement, creating short-term appointment opportunities, developing programs to foster connections, organizing workshops and training, and facilitating networking events.

The RFI is open to the public, but the OPR is particularly interested in responses from individuals or affiliates within the UC system, CSU system, auxiliary organizations of the CSU or California community colleges, foundations supporting the California Community Colleges Board of Governors, and auxiliary organizations of the Student Aid Commission. There is an optional webinar scheduled on March 28, 2024, and the RFI proposal submission deadline is April 19, 2024.
