Issued by
Sacramento County, Sacramento City, California

About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR) to gather insights, ideas, and recommendations from the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems on strengthening the collaboration between California state government agencies and the UC/CSU systems. The main objectives of this RFI are to understand current incentives, opportunities, and barriers for active collaboration, identify methods to activate and promote collaboration, and determine which entities within the UC/CSU systems can facilitate the partnerships. Potential outcomes include streamlining partnerships, formalizing faculty/staff engagement, creating appointment opportunities, developing programs to foster connections, organizing workshops and training, and facilitating networking events. The RFI is open to the public, but OPR is particularly interested in responses from the UC, CSU, and related auxiliary organizations.

This RFI will not result in a contract award. However, a future contract will be made with a CSU or UC university using the California Model Agreement. OPR is looking to connect UCs and CSUs with state agencies, especially the Governor's Office, to inform state policy, enrich curriculum, foster policy-relevant research, and streamline the partnership process. Respondents are asked to provide insights on current collaboration incentives and challenges, ideas for enhancing collaboration, and the roles of various entities within the UC/CSU systems in supporting the partnership efforts.
