About this file
This Scope of Work document outlines professional services for the Iowa Department of Public Defense to replace seven existing Lennox rooftop units (RTUs) at the Spencer Readiness Center located at 11 East 23rd Street, Spencer, Iowa. The project requires replacement of the seven RTUs with Lennox Enlight RTUs equipped with factory-installed options including a High Performance Economizer with single enthalpy, multi-speed ECM direct drive supply fan, built-in BACnet IP and MS/TP protocols, R-454B refrigerant, barometric relief damper, low NOx system, combination coil/hail guards, hinged access doors, environ evaporator and condenser coil system, and 2-inch MERV8 PLE filter with condensate switch. The scope additionally requires replacement of existing thermostats with Honeywell TH8321WF VisionPRO 8000 Smart Thermostats, modification of low and high voltage wiring as needed, comprehensive gas line work including replacement of existing unions and ball valves, and roofing work encompassing roof curb adapters, high wind hold-down brackets, and sealing or repairs to penetrations resulting from installation. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 30 at 10:00 a.m., with bids due July 8, 2026. All questions regarding the scope must be addressed during the mandatory site visit, and an RSVP is required to philip.payton@dpd.iowa.gov and koby.w.higgins.nfg@army.mil.
Bids will be submitted as a lump sum total via the IMPACS system, and there will not be a public bid opening. All roofing materials must be compatible with DuroLast Inc. roofing systems, and the contractor should contact CenMark Roofing (Zac Franke at 402-650-0633) regarding roofing requirements. The RTUs should be equipped without an additional fused disconnect if possible; if necessary, RTUs must be ordered without the non-fused disconnect to accommodate installation requirements. The issuing officer is Philip Payton, who can be reached at 515-975-6211 or philip.payton@dpd.iowa.gov.
