About this file
This specification sheet outlines procurement requirements for the Illinois State Police Special Operations Command (SOCOM) seeking to acquire fifteen fiberglass camper shells designed for Ford F-150 Crew Cab short bed pickup trucks. The camper shells will serve to secure and protect operational gear while meeting commercial fleet durability standards. The procurement specifies shells compatible with current-generation 2023–2026 Ford F-150 models, with quantities distributed across three OEM factory colors: three units in Atlas Blue Metallic, five units in Iconic Silver Metallic, and seven units in Agate Black Metallic. Acceptable manufacturers include LEER, A.R.E., and SnugTop, though equivalent products meeting or exceeding all specifications will be considered. Installation must be completed or scheduled for completion by June 30th, 2026, and may occur at one or multiple locations within a 150-mile radius of Springfield, Illinois.
The specification requires fiberglass reinforced composite construction with automotive-grade, UV-resistant exterior finishes and a reinforced roof capable of supporting a minimum 200-pound static load capacity. Each unit must include a full rear hatch door with tempered safety glass and keyed locking handle, lockable side access windows with 20% tinting on both sides, interior 12V LED dome lighting, and a center high-mounted stop lamp integrated with the vehicle's brake system. The mounting system must be clamp-on type compatible with factory bed rails without requiring permanent vehicle modifications, and all installation hardware must be included. The manufacturer shall provide a minimum three-year warranty on the fiberglass structure and a one-year warranty on hardware and components. The awarded vendor is responsible for full installation services, including final assembly and quality assurance to ensure units are free from defects and ready for operational use.
