About this file
This document is a technical specification for a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project to replace an auxiliary chiller at Building 3 in the Fayetteville VAMC located at 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. The project involves removing and replacing the existing 120-ton auxiliary chiller with a new chiller of equivalent capacity, along with replacing two 250 gpm pumps in an adjacent mechanical room. The new chiller and pumps must be fully integrated with the existing Building Automation System (BAS), using a BACnet-compliant controller with specific data point requirements including start/stop, status, and alarm functions.
Key technical specifications include installing all required piping, valves, supports, and controls, with low voltage control wiring to be installed in blue control conduit. The contractor must update graphics, trends, and digital alarming on the Tridium Direct Digital Control (DDC) Supervisor located in Building 35. The project requires compliance with VA master specifications, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommendations, and Underwriters Laboratories standards. Contractors are encouraged to attend a pre-bid site visit, with the date to be determined. The project number is 565-24-113, and the primary goal is to provide chilled water redundancy for Building 3.
