About this file
This document is a specification for a service contract with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) District 2, covering first aid and eye wash station maintenance across 19 maintenance yards throughout Illinois. The two-year contract requires quarterly (90-day) service to inspect, maintain, and restock first aid kits and eye wash stations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and ANSI safety standards. The service includes comprehensive inspections of first aid equipment, restocking specific supplies like bandages, gloves, medical tools, and verifying eye wash station functionality, with each maintenance yard having a designated local contact person.
The contract specifies detailed technical requirements for first aid kit contents and eye wash station performance, including precise measurements such as water flow rate (0.4 gallons per minute), water pressure (30 PSI), and water temperature (60-100 degrees Fahrenheit). After each service visit, the contractor must provide a detailed report documenting items inspected, supplies replenished, and any identified issues or recommendations. The maintenance yards are located across northern and northwestern Illinois, including locations in Belvidere, Rockford, Galena, Oregon, Rock Falls, Geneseo, Milan, and Dixon, among others. While pricing details are not included in the specification, the document provides a comprehensive outline of service expectations and operational standards.
