Statement of Specification Project: Tractor Lease
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: The UDSA-ARS is requesting bids for a one-year lease for two new Case IH Magnum 340 tractors or the equivalent. Specifications for the leased tractors are itemized below.
2.0 Background: The USDA-ARS Prairie du Sac research station has a manure storage lagoon that receives waste from the dairy herd. The lagoon must be emptied periodically, as field and weather conditions allow, to distribute nutrients on cropland and reduce manure volume in the lagoon. We don’t currently have tractors with the horsepower to handle pulling the tankers.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements: The tractors will each be used to pull Jamesway triaxle manure tankers (7,400 gallons) for spreading of liquid manure on croplands at the Prairie du Sac research station.
Brand name or equal: 2025 Case IH Magnum 340 tractors or equivalent
Specifications:
• 340 HP or Greater
• Tractors must be 4-wheel drive, dual tires front and rear
• Tractors must have power shift style transmission
• Tractors must have air conditioning
• CAT4 heavy duty drawbar on each tractor
• Engine block heaters
• Lease must include annual service for both tractors
• Service calls must be returned within 48 hours
• Full warranty for equipment provided by vendor for lease term
• Usage hours up to 600 hours/year/tractor
• Tires included in the cost of lease agreement.
• WAAS Guidance
• Suspended front axle
• High capacity hydraulic pump
• 6 front weights
• 5 hydraulic remotes
4.0 Government Furnished: The government will furnish experienced operators to drive the machine. The Prairie du Sac Agricultural Research Station is in operation 7 days a week, including federal holidays.
5.0 Deliverables / Schedule:
Please quote one year lease period of April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026.
The quote should include all fees and delivery charges.
Delivery is expected to the Prairie du Sac Agricultural Research Station (S8822 Sunset Drive, Prairie du Sac, WI) by April 1, 2025, or as negotiated.
