About this file

This is a bid request document from the City of Warwick, Rhode Island for tire repairs and recapping services for various municipal vehicles. The bid (Bid2026-242) solicits proposals for tire services covering payloaders, backhoes, packers, dump trucks, pickup trucks, fire vehicles, and other municipal vehicles. The bid requires services for tire removal, application, repairs, and tube repairs during both normal working hours (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM) and outside those hours, including weekends and holidays. Bids are due by 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, with a bid opening at 65 Centerville Road, and the contract term will be from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026, with potential for one additional one-year extension.

The pricing structure includes detailed rates for different vehicle types and service times, with specific requirements for Bandag tire recapping for various truck classifications, including sander, dump, fire, highway, water, and sanitation trucks. Additional pricing elements include road service rates, calcium chloride installation costs, and repairs for tire casings (N-hole, spot, and section repairs). The city will evaluate bids not just on price, but also on the distance to travel for tire service. Bidders must provide references and a Certificate of Insurance with $1 million in general liability coverage, naming the City of Warwick as an additional insured. The bid allows for potential usage of multiple cooperative purchasing contracts, including RI State MPA, NASPO, MHEC, Sourcewell, and OMNIA Partners.
