About this file
This document is a detailed specification document for the Roosevelt Creek Channel 5 Improvements project, prepared by Pinellas County, Florida, involving roadway and channel construction. The project encompasses multiple technical specifications for clearing and grubbing, survey and layout, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, pipe lining, concrete structures, and environmental planting. Key activities include removing an existing salinity weir, constructing a new weir, lining existing pipe connections, installing manatee grates, addressing channel erosion, and implementing environmental plantings. The specifications provide comprehensive technical requirements for contractors, including detailed instructions on pipe cleaning, CCTV inspections, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, plant installation, and 90-day environmental maintenance.
The project is funded and will be executed with specific pay items for various activities, with measurement and payment structured on a per linear foot, square yard, or lump sum basis depending on the specific task. The specifications include precise requirements for water quality management, turbidity monitoring, archaeological discovery protocols, and environmental protection measures. Contractors will be responsible for public notifications, traffic control, water flow management, and ensuring 100% survival of planted vegetation during a 90-day maintenance period. The project appears to be supported by local funding and potentially includes ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding, with a focus on improving hydrological connectivity, habitat value, and marine life passage in the Roosevelt Creek Channel.
