The specification outlines comprehensive safety and protection protocols, including preventing hazards to personnel, minimizing interference with adjacent areas, and maintaining site safety through measures such as warning signs, barricades, and temporary fences. Key execution requirements include daily debris removal off-site, breaking up concrete slabs below grade, legally disposing of materials in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and removing existing utilities in a manner conforming to national codes. The specification emphasizes contractor responsibilities for site survey, avoiding damage to existing structures, and coordinating demolition work with other project activities, with all work subject to approval by the Resident Engineer.
