9A. AMENDMENT OF SOLICITATION NO.
9B. DATED (SEE ITEM 11)
13. THIS APPLIES ONLY TO MODIFICATIONS OF CONTRACTS/ORDERS.
IT MODIFIES THE CONTRACT/ORDER NO. AS DESCRIBED IN ITEM 14.
A. The purpose of this modification is to answer prospective offerors’ questions and to extend the solicitation’s closing date and time.
B. Offerors’ questions with the Government’s answers follow:
1. QUESTION: Sites visited are not using the ‘4G/11.1/S’ vented boxes for the storage of aerosols and are instead using other vented containers. Is this acceptable? And if so, is there a preference for metal or plastic?
RESPONSE: The sites have been using metal and plastic vented containers for aerosols. No site has mentioned boxes.
2. QUESTION: Do any of the sites have current Environment Agency Permits and if so what are the conditions set out within these for each site?
RESPONSE: The sites have premises codes, which are issued by the UK environment agency.
3. QUESTION: You mention revising the estimated mass of lead acid batteries upwards from 55 to 145 tons, based on an order analysis of 160 tonnes/year. But wouldn't that put the total over the 18 months up to 217 tons?
RESPONSE: We will keep our estimated quantity at the revised amount of 145,150 KG (160 tons) per 18-month period. The estimate has been increased considerably from the initial estimate. It is not a steady stream, but results in large quantities for collection when the sites are ready.
C. The solicitation’s closing date and time is hereby extended until 10:00 AM local (Germany) time on 28 October 2016. All offers must be submitted no later than 10:00 AM local (Germany) time on 28 October 2016.
Offerors are also reminded to submit a signed copy of each solicitation amendment with their offer.
