About this file

This document is an Amendment 2 Questions and Answers file for a federal contract solicitation involving forklifts. The Q&A addresses three key technical specifications: (1) a minimum lift height requirement of 10 feet for all units, (2) a mandatory load capacity of 4,000 lbs that must be maintained regardless of additional attachments like fork positioners or side shifters, and (3) a requirement for safety mirrors on stand-up lifts, with each unit needing to match the Statement of Work requirements. These technical clarifications appear to be part of the solicitation process for the CONUS 4k Forklift IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contract, which is a HUBZone set-aside procurement under NAICS code 811310 for commercial forklifts to be delivered to DLA Disposition Services locations across the continental United States.

Amendment 2: Questions & Answers

Questions 1: What is the required lift height for these units?

Answer 1: The lift height must be a minimum of 10 ft for all units.

Question 2: When you add a fork positioner and a side shifter, it will de-rate the forklifts capacity. Your end-user is asking for a 4k lb capacity that could de-rate to around 3500 lbs with the side shifter and the fork positioner. Was this taken into account or will the customer need to lift 4K lbs with the fork positioner and side shifting carriage? If they need the latter, we will have to go with a higher lift capacity.

Answer 2: The minimum load capacity must be rated for 4,000 lbs no matter the situation or attachments the unit requires.

Question 3: Are safety mirrors required for the stand-up lifts?

Answer 3: Yes, safety mirrors are required. Each unit must match the requirements listed within the Statement of Work.
