A. The first purpose of this amendment is to answer questions received from potential offerors. The following questions have been received from potential offerors and answers are embedded:
1. If the contractor installs a permanent data plate, will the owner (end user) hire a structural engineer verify it does not alter the manufacturer’s capabilities?
Answer: The installer is required to solve the permanent marking challenge. If he/she changes the manufacture's structural design then it must be considered in the structural engineer study.
2. Will the contractor be responsible for hiring a structural engineer?
Answer: See answer to question 1.
3. Does the item offered have to be manufactured by a small business.
Answer: Yes.
4. Is a permanent marker an acceptable label?
Answer: No, a permanent marker is not acceptable as it can easily be removed with alcohol.
5. Are there loading docks at each of the buildings? If not, which buildings have loading docks?
Answer: Yes the Huntsville site does have a loading dock on-site they can use.
