About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for Solicitation SP330025Q0188, which appears to be for Uninterrupted Power Supply Repair Services for the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution. The Q&A reveals critical details about the project site and work requirements, including that all three current power supply units are in an "input voltage issues" alarm status. Key logistical details include the presence of multiple loading docks, an enclosed platform with ladder access points, and specific equipment requirements - the contractor must provide their own lift (recommended to be a 20' scissor lift) to access raised platforms. Safety protocols indicate no fall protection is necessary when using a scissors reach, and the existing handrail system is considered safe. The solicitation requires battery replacement costs to be included in Item 0001 of the proposal, and the work involves a one-time repair service for the power supply units.

Questions and Answers – SP330025Q0188
1. Are any of the units currently offline or in alarm? Can you share alarm details if so.
Answer: Yes, all three of the units currently are in an alarm status. All the alarms relate to “input voltage issues”
1. Can you send a picture of each unit and it’s corresponding ladder?
Answer: Sorry, I am not authorized to do this, however the ladders are very solid steel structures.
1. Is there a loading dock for the delivery of batteries?
Answer: Yes, there are numerous loading docks throughout the warehouse.
1. Is there a lift or pulley system to pull the batteries up to the raised platform or must they be carried up the ladder?
Answer: There is not a lift/pulley system. In the past the batteries were lifted to the platforms with a scissors reach or a forklift.
1. I don’t see a place to list the battery replacement cost on the excel sheet, should we include this in Item 0001?
Answer: Yes
1. Is there a lift available on site that can reach the platforms, or will the contractor need to provide one?
Answer: The contractor will have to provide a lift. If a smaller sized 20’ scissor lift is brough on site, this would work out fine.
1. Is the platform enclosed?
Answer: The platform is enclosed with a standard two rail system. There are two openings where the ladder access points are located on the platform.
1. Will fall protection, such as a harness or other equipment, be required? Since we’re unable to obtain site photos, we would appreciate clarification on all safety protocols related to working at heights.
Answer: If a scissors reach is used, no fall protection is necessary. The ladders and overall handrail system are completely safe and do not require fall protection.
