About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for industrial hygiene and ergonomic program support services. The amendment provides answers to vendor questions and clarifies that no changes were made to the performance work statement in a previous amendment. Defense Logistics Agency Distribution at the San Joaquin, California facility requires field services from a Certified Industrial Hygienist to conduct workplace exposure monitoring, inspections, and safety program development and support. The amendment estimates the number and types of laboratory samples that may be required annually and clarifies that the work is to be performed as a full-time on-site role with some remote work permitted.

Question 2. Page 3 of the PWS indicates that the contractor personnel shall be on-site 3 days/week and available for emergent needs M-F excluding federal holidays. Please clarify whether this is a 5 day/week, 40 week task or 3 day/week, 24 hour week task, or otherwise. Answer 2. It is a 5day/week, 40 hours per week task (24 hours required onsite/16 hours telework).

Question 3. It is customary for field industrial hygiene work to be performed by an Industrial Hygiene technician (i.e., degreed in Industrial Hygiene or similar academic background with 3-5 years of relevant experience) under the direction and guidance of a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Is this practice permissible as provided in the 2017 PWS? That is not permissible in the current PWS.

Answer 3. The Industrial Hygiene technician FTE has been removed from the PWS. A CIH is required to perform the work under this contract.

Question 4. Is the field work required to be completed by a CIH directly or can the field work be completed by other certified staff under the supervision of a CIH to meet the requirements? Answer 4. Field work must be completed by a CIH directly.

Question 5. The weekly CIH meetings are they remote or required to be in person?
