PAGE 1/3
SCOPE OF WORK
Scope of work (summary):
1. Contractor is to provide all labor, supervision, materials, tools, and equipment design and install 150 KW roof mounted solar photovoltaic system for building 100.
The solar photovoltaic (PV) system hardware and services shall meet or exceed all local, State and utility requirements, conform to the applicable codes and standards, and have passed the listing and qualification tests. All design and installation shall comply with the most recent version of each document.
The final design of the on-site PV systems shall be the responsibility of the Contractor based on site conditions, roofing materials, and final system component selections by the Contractor.
The systems must be compliant with applicable design guidelines. This Section identifies the minimum technical and installation specifications required. The PV systems shall be consistent with and adhere to any and all California Building Codes and standards, the California Solar Initiative program, and any and all CEC technical and installation specifications and guidelines.
(a) Contractor shall provide monocrystalline Maxeon Gen II solar cells panel Sun Power E20-435-COM or approved equal with minimum 25 years warranty.
(b) Solar panel shall have plug and play inbuilt preconfigured micro inverter power station with NEMA 3R stainless steel enclosure and minimum 10 years warranty.
(c) Install appropriate combining boxes.
(d) Solar panels shall be roof mounted with Helix Roof Single Tilt system configuration with minimum 25 years warranty. Helix electrical BOS system shall have minimum 10 years warranty.
(e) Provide energy link monitoring hardware to locally monitor all the panels for energy production and maintenance purposes with minimum 10 years warranty.
(f) Peak KW output at the utility interconnection meter shall be minimum
150 KW.
(g) PV electrical output will be interconnected with the existing electric service to the building Panel HDP.
(h) All PV generated will be used to displace "behind-the-meter" retail electric consumption.
(i) The PV solar panels’ layout of the rooftop PV system shall be designed so as not to interfere with the servicing of existing mechanical equipment, roof drains, or other roof equipment that requires regular servicing.
Access aisles will be provided on the rooftop and appropriate clearances to maintain roof top mechanical equipment.
(j) PV system shall meet 85 mph 3 second gusts wind load.

(k) Use maximum ballasts for PV panel anchoring. Repair, seal, weather tight all roof penetration. Coordinate with Durolast Roofing Inc. to provide certificate of roof warranty not invalidated by solar PV installation.
(l) Output from the PV panels will be converted to AC through inverter mounted on solar panels and then interconnected to the main electrical switchgear. The new PV systems will tie in with the existing Base-wide electrical distribution system.
(m) PV system design include appropriate disconnects and grounding systems to safely interface with the government's power distribution system.
(n) Refer section 26 31 00 for solar photovoltaic design, construction and installation specifications.
(o) Refer section 48 14 50 for solar power generation design, construction and installation specifications.
(p) Contractor shall submit final design for government approval minimum three weeks prior to construction. Contractor must provide PE certified project narrative and calculations to demonstrate minimum 150 KW peak power generation at the utility interconnection meter. Final design shall be stamped by a registered electrical, mechanical, civil and structural professional engineer with the state of California with minimum of five years’ experience of a similar project. Design deliverable shall be three sets of 11” x 17” drawings and one CD with all drawings in Pdf and AUTOCAD format. Contractor must provide PE certified project narrative and calculations to demonstrate minimum 150 KW peak power generation at the utility interconnection meter.
2. Contractor shall demolish, remove and dispose existing solar PV and water heating system. Components of existing solar PV and water heating system located inside the building shall be removed by the government. Contractor shall be responsible for removal of all components located on the roof and repair/patch all roof penetrations. Coordinate with Durolast Roofing Inc. to provide certificate of roof warranty not invalidated by roof repair due to removal of all pipes, conduits etc. included in existing solar PV and water heating system.
General:
1. Refer to all other specification sections for a complete scope of work.
2. Government shall perform all power switching and LOTO.
3. All inspection and testing shall be performed as per NETA standards.
4. Submit construction Schedule, Safety and Health Plan, Injury prevention plan, Hazardous Analysis Plan and quality control plan prior to installation.
5. Submit shop drawings for approval, prior to installation, of all material and control circuits.
6. Removal of Hazardous Waste, Non-RCRA Hazardous Waste, Non-Regulated Hazardous Waste and Universal Waste: All Manifest, Non-Hazardous Waste Manifests, Special Waste Manifests, Straight Bill of Ladings shall be signed by Environmental Office prior to removal off site.
7. A minimum of two weeks’ notice is required for any power interruption.
8. All work requiring power interruption shall be performed on Saturday and
Sunday only from 7:30 pm to 04:00 am. It may not be possible to allow work for continuous 8 hours at one particular location. Work may have to be split up depending on mission requirements.
