The purpose of amendment 0003 is to-
a. Communicate to any vendors that may have already submitted a hard copy bid. An email confirming your acknowledgment of amendments 0002 and 0003 is acceptable. However, if you would like to adjust your bid pricing as a result of the recent amendments, you will need to send it via postal mail prior to June 12, 2018 at 10AM PST. It will be married to your original submission at the time of bid opening. Any resubmission will constitute your updated bid pricing in response to this solicitation.
b. Update Section 5 of the statement of work to the following:
5.0 Provide and install twist-timer controls
5.1 One timer shall be installed at each heater location;
5.2 Shall be Intermatic FF34H or equivalent;
5.3 Shall be mechanical type;
5.4 Shall be four-hour maximum;
5.5 Any conduit, conductors or other components required to complete the controls
c. Update the period of performance to 90 days after issuance of Notice to Proceed.
d. Provide clarification for the following questions:
proximity to each other. Is the desire for a thermostat to control each area being heated, or each individual heater? (In other words, does every single heater need its own thermostat?) Please provide clarification. For
Warehouse 30-2 and 56-1, one thermostat can be provided. For all other locations, the contractor should bid one thermostat per heater.

Question 1: Can The QC Manager, SSHO and Superintendent be one person?
Government Response: Yes.
Question 2: Will a third party Commissioning Agent be required?
Government Response: No.
Question 3: Please provide LBP/ACM survey for this project.
Government Response: N/A.
Question 4: Please provide Building As-Builts.
Government Response: N/A.
Question 5: Please provide the existing gas line size at each point of connection.
Government Response: The pipe ranges from ¾” to 2”. Contractor shall verify.
Question 6: All new gas lines are to be install overhead, correct?
Government Response: Yes.
Question 7: Will the areas below each heater and gas line runs be cleared by the government? Government
Response: No. Many locations will require a boom/reach-lift.
Question 8: Please provide the ceiling heights of each building.
Government Response: Warehouses 6, 13, 14, 15 and 22 are approximately 22 feet. Assume 35 ft for
Warehouses 30 and 56.
Question 9: In the solicitation under hours of work it states five days a week eight hours a day. Can we work four days a week ten hours a day?
Government Response: No.
Question 10: We are requesting that the period of performance be changed from 60 calendar days to 120 calendar days.
Government Response: Period of Performance has been updated to 90 days firm.
Question 11: What is the gas pressure of the existing gas mains ?
Government Response: All gas mains are medium pressure – 5 psi.
Question 12: Please locate the existing gas line point of connection for warehouse 15-5.
Government Response: This is a replacement location. Gas is connected to the existing heaters.
Question 13: Radiant Heater Controls call for a new infrared thermostat that senses both radiant and ambient temperatures using two separate sensors, with the radiant air temperature sensor using a hemispherical pattern. Additionally, these call for motion-based and light-level sensing capabilities to determine occupancy, and a built-in night setback feature per paragraphs 5.2 and 5.3. We have not been able to find a thermostat that will accomplish the requirements in the SOW. Please advise as to how you would like to proceed, or is there a particular thermostat that was chosen?
Government Response: SOW section 5 has been updated. See paragraph b. of this amendment.
Question 14: If no conventional thermostat is available, is it acceptable to install a small programmable control panel with multiple sensors (Temperatures, Lighting-level and Motion-based Occupancy) per unit to accomplish the requirements in the SOW?
Government Response: See response to question 13.
Question 15: Can the bid date be extended?
Government Response: Bid opening has been extended to June 12 as of amendment 2. Firm.
Question 16: Were there any pictures taken during the job walk?
Government Response: Every visitor was allowed to take their own pictures. No additional pictures are available.
