The purpose of amendment 0002 is to-
a. Extend the bid opening date to June 12, 2018 at 10:00AM Pacific Standard Time.
b. Provide clarification for the following questions.
c. Communicate a third amendment is forthcoming to answer additional questions.
Question 1: A site staging area or material storage yard was not addressed or pointed out during the site visit. Will one be available, and if so, where will it be located? Can a towable, mobile storage trailer be kept on site here?
Government Response: Yes, an area for staging / storing material will be available near one of the warehouses. Trailers can be staged on the depot for storage.
Question 2: Will government supplied power be available for the use of charging electric man lifts and/or equipment for the operation?
Government Response: Yes.
Question 3: Will each warehouse location be accessible by self-propelled man lift baskets? Can the existing truck ramps into each warehouse be utilized for access of these machines?
Government Response: Yes.
Question 4: Once inside a warehouse, will the man lift machines be allowed to remain in the “traveled way” during installation of overhead piping?
Government Response: Yes - with prior notice.
Question 5: Is a ground person required for this contract in order to “provide for safety, awareness, and forklift traffic control,” around the work areas?
Government Response: No.
Question 6: Can the man lifts be stored in each warehouse overnight while charging?
Government Response: Yes.
Question 7: During electrical installation the active panels will need to be tied into. During this process, “lock out tag out” procedures will need to be in place. A shut-down of the entire panel will need to happen. Please indicate the best time of day for shut downs, and the allowable duration.
Government Response: This will be a site-by-site determination but usually the best time is midday at approximately 11:00 – 12:00.
proximity to each other. Is the desire for a thermostat to control each area being heated, or each individual heater? (In other words, does every single heater need its own thermostat?) Please provide clarification. For
Warehouse 30-2 and 56-1, one thermostat can be provided. For all other locations, the contractor should bid one thermostat per heater.

Question 8: The new gas lines will need to be tied in also. Is it allowable to shut down the entire natural gas line in order to install new valves and lines? Also, bleed off procedures will need to take place for existing gas in each line. Will this bleeding off of gas be allowed around and during normal operating procedures? What type of notice needs to be given, and what specific procedures followed in regards to this?
We would like to prevent any “false alarms” of gas leaks or fire protocols.
Government Response: Yes. The gas lines can be shut down with a 24 hour advanced notice to the government.
Question 9: No thermostat locations are identified on the plan set. The specification (5.0) requires one thermostat be installed at each heater location. In some locations, the heaters are being installed in very close proximity to each other. Is the desire for a thermostat to control each area being heated, or each individual heater? (In other words, does every single heater need its own thermostat?) Please provide clarification.
Government Response: For Warehouse 30-2 and 56-1, one thermostat can be provided. For all other locations, the contractor should bid one thermostat per heater.
