1 SCOPE OF WORK:
1.1 The work includes the following and incidental related work:
1.1.1 A. Crossover and Bypass Piping:
HX-1 must be able to have its tube bundle replaced while its system continues to provide heat to lab spaces for year round humidity control. HX-1 will have a bypass and a two closely spaced TEE’s installed for hot water injection from HX-20. HX-20 will have a load bypass installed and two TEE’s separated by a valve to utilize the systems pumps. The two heat exchangers will be connected by (2) 2” carbon steel pipes run through the ceiling, chasing an existing steam line. These pipes will be approximately 130 linear feet round trip, shall be fully concealed from the occupied spaces and insulated per specifications. Both interconnected systems and crossover piping shall contain 30% propylene glycol at the completion of the project. The hot water output temperature of HX-20 must be increased to offset the reduced energy transfer of the glycol.
1.1.2 C. Hazardous Materials:
Hazardous materials may be present due to the age of the building. Please refer to section 7 of this document for more information.
2 BASIS OF BID:
