About this file
This is a detailed Statement of Work (SOW) for a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) for the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) designed to enhance ophthalmological mobile capabilities. The SOW specifies a 41-45 foot Class A RV-style vehicle with comprehensive clinical, technical, and operational requirements, including two exam rooms, an optical area, restroom, and specialized medical equipment such as a Canon CR-2 Plus AF Digital Retinal Camera and Heidelberg Spectralis OCT. The vehicle must meet VA standards and Florida vehicle safety requirements, with specific design elements like wheelchair accessibility, ramps, one-directional patient flow, and climate-controlled clinical spaces.
The vehicle specifications are extensive, covering vehicle body, chassis, plumbing, generator, HVAC, electrical, and electronics systems. Key technical requirements include a 20KW diesel generator, four roof-mounted 15,000 BTU heat pumps, CAT 6 network cabling, backup camera systems, satellite connectivity, and multiple storage and power configurations. The SOW is part of a pre-solicitation Sources Sought Notice under NAICS code 336211 with a size standard of 1,000 employees, aimed at conducting market research for potential vendors to design and construct this specialized mobile medical unit for Technology-Based Eye Care Services (TECS) within the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8).
