INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORS
Statement of Work
Installation of Additional Environmental Monitors Project # 629-21-102
1. BACKGROUND:
The current VA facility was constructed as a hospital to address Veterans patient care needs in the New Orleans, Louisiana area. During March 2020, the Inpatient Building HVAC Mechanical systems were temporarily modified to create negative air pressure differentials at entries to the Patient wards. This action was needed for employee safety and infection control due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This project is the construction to install additional room pressure monitors and temperature/humidity monitors to correct inspection findings. In addition, this will reduce current manpower requirements for manually logging environmental conditions in Medical Supply and Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) storage locations. By automating the temperature and humidity readings, it will allow nursing numerous hours to dedicate to patient care that are currently used to manually log and review temperature and humidity readings. This project will also include an upgrade of the Building Automation System (BAS) server to support adding additional data points to the existing Johnson Controls System.
