SCOPE OF WORK
Emergency Project to Secure ER-Cross Corridor
Doors,Cameras, PACS Installation
Project # OK2CAS14H4
August 15, 2022
I. Objective:
The objective of this project is to install secured control door assemblies with monitoring cameras for the ER department at the Claremore Indian Hospital located in Claremore, Oklahoma. The hospital is a 110,000+ ft2 hospital building that consists of outpatient services such as OB/GYN, Behavioral Health, Pediatrics, Medical/Urgent Clinics, Contract Health, Dental, WIC, Pharmacy, Diabetes Education, and Public Health, as well as in-patient services that includes ER, OB, in-patient, OR, diagnostic Radiology services, and ICU.
II. Background:
The ER department is not currently isolated from the rest of the hospital with normal daily traffic going thru main corridors that split up the ER Department into three sections. The original cross-corridor doors were removed due to non-code compliance and were never re-installed, just removed. In order to isolate ER physically from the rest of the hospital, the two missing cross-corridor door assemblies need to be re-installed with Physical Access Control System (PACS) card readers on both sides of the doors, install a local digital CCTV camera system for ER nursing to monitor patients presenting to the two new doorways, ER patient waiting in hallway 3, main ER hallways (2), and ER patient restroom doors. The location of the two new door assemblies do not interfere with the existing ceiling features. Since the hallway will be secured, the room 245 doorway to hallway 6 in the 2 hour fire-rated barrier needs removed and filled in properly. The existing south
ER entrance from the ER waiting room 1201 does not currently automatically open upon card reader activation (have to pull to open after card reader activation) and automatic door operator currently is activated by remote-release buttons inside the ER registration office 1202 and on the inside of ER hallway 7 to exit. Automatic opening upon activation by card reader is needed for this set of doors. The hospital’s IT department will install telephones on the outside of each new cross-corridor door location (2) and will be in place by the time this project is completed.
The existing ER Department layout is shown in the following attachment along with locations for the new doors, walls, CCTV system, and access controls:
Attachment A. Current ER Department Area Layout & Conditions
