About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a CellInsight CX7 Service Agreement with the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The MATRICES Lab requires a one-year service agreement for preventive maintenance and technical support of a CX7 CellInsight laser-based fluorescence imaging system. The system is critical for laboratory operations studying tissue disease progression and proteases, and requires annual maintenance following warranty expiration to prevent equipment loss or damage. The contractor must provide yearly preventative maintenance visits including travel fees, technical support via phone/email/web, priority service scheduling, and service requests according to three severity levels specified in the vendor quote. Services are to be delivered at the MATRICES Lab in Bethesda, Maryland (Building 35A, Room GD930, 9000 Rockville Pike) with a delivery date of approximately April 1, 2026. The primary point of contact is Audrey Noguchi (audrey.noguchi@nih.gov) with Hannah Song Lee as alternate contact. Invoices must be submitted via two-way invoicing to the Department of Treasury's Invoice Processing Platform (https://www.ipp.gov) and to NHLBIContractsBranchB@mail.nih.gov. No security requirements, government-furnished property, or government-furnished information apply to this agreement.

Statement of Work (SOW)

1. Project Title CellInsight CX7 Service Agreement 2026

2. Introduction and Background The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) transforms, through technology development, our understanding of disease and its prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment. The Section on Mechanics and Tissue Remodeling Integrating Computational & Experimental Systems (MATRICES) studies the transition of tissue from healthy to a diseased state and the underlying mechanisms driving disease progression. Of particular interest are enzymes known as proteases, which degrade extracellular matrices and other proteins. The MATRICES Lab seeks to reveal opportunities for new diagnostics and therapeutics for sickle cell disease, cancer metastasis, orthopedic diseases and other conditions. To accomplish these goals, we employ both experimental and computational approaches including label-free MRI, mechanical testing, computational modeling and analysis of gene and protein expression.

3. Statement of Need and Objectives

The MATRICES Lab has a CX7 CellInsight system, which is a laser-based fluorescence imaging system, capable of producing high resolution imaging of various research samples. This system has not yet received annual preventive maintenance following the expiration of the warranty and is critical for lab operations. Failure to enact coverage of this system could result in loss or damage to the equipment or higher costs to repair it, resulting in a significant loss in investment.

4. Product Specifications/Features/Salient Characteristics

This service agreement will provide yearly planned maintenance visits, free of charge, for the CX7 CellInsight system.
