About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of calibration standards and ancillary equipment to support Aviation Fleet Intermediate Calibration Activities and Navy Calibration Laboratories. The requirement specifies the purchase of three (3) MAHR 130B-16 Gage Block Comparators designed for measuring long gage blocks up to 24 inches or 600mm. Each unit must include a one-year manufacturer warranty with warranty certificate, calibration certificate, calibration sticker, serialization, manufacturer's standard operating and servicing manuals, and shipping to the designated destination. The equipment must meet specific technical specifications including a measuring range of 1.100-24.000 inches or 50-600mm, resolution selectable between 1 microinch or 0.1 microinch/0.1mm or 1.01mm, repeatability of 6 sigma ±1 (25nm), and linearity within 1 microinch (0.025mm) in the central 50 inches (1.25mm) and elsewhere. The system base weight is 400 pounds (180kg) with dimensions of 15 inches length by 15 inches width by 30 inches height, and requires laboratory temperature maintenance in an ideal range of minus 68 to 0.5°F or 20 to 0.25°C with a maximum range of minus 68 to 1.0°F or 20 to 0.5°C.
All procurement must follow an approval process including fleet submission, fleet TYCOM review and prioritization, NAVAIR METCAL technical review for workload justification and standardization, and overall procurement strategy assessment. The related solicitation (N00421-26-Q-1093) indicates this is a sole source procurement with Mahr, Inc., issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command, with quotes required by March 20, 2026 at 12:00pm Eastern Standard Time. All offerors must be registered in SAM.GOV prior to submission, and the Government will acquire this on a firm fixed-price basis with new products only, with no substitutions permitted.
