About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for fan maintenance and inspection services.
The contractor is responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections and maintenance of industrial fans and their associated electrical systems during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). Work must utilize OSHA-approved two-man scissor lifts, and bridge cranes in the work area must be locked out during maintenance activities. The scope encompasses physical inspection of fan components including hubs, airfoils, mounting hardware (verified with torque wrench), breather caps, oil levels, safety cables, guy wires, and mounting methods. The contractor must verify that fans are plumb and level, inspect for corrosion and metal degradation, examine supplemental steel supports and weld integrity, and assess wiring methods and raceway isolation. Electrical verification duties include confirming proper motor and controller connections, checking fault history, verifying correct fuse sizing, confirming Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) maximum frequency settings remain unchanged, and clearing VFD debris. The contractor must document all findings but is explicitly excluded from performing repair work for incorrect fan mounting, damaged parts, or other identified deficiencies—such repairs require contracting officer authorization. All additional findings must be documented and reported for further action.
