About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details requirements for replacing a malfunctioning fire pump in Building B100 at the Bay Pines Veterans Administration Healthcare System in Bay Pines, FL. The existing pump is experiencing excessive water dripping from the shaft packing that violates code requirements.

The contractor must provide and install a new electric fire pump and motor assembly matching the existing pump's performance specifications (1500 GPM, 120 PSIG, 1785 RPM). Key requirements include: removing the old pump, fabricating custom plumbing fittings, modifying the concrete base as needed, reconnecting electrical wiring, and testing/commissioning the new pump to meet NFPA 20 standards. The contractor must coordinate scheduling with the facility to plan for system downtime and obtain escort access to the secured area. The SOW also includes detailed records management requirements regarding handling of federal records and documentation generated during the project.
