About this file
This notice is seeking Statements of Qualifications from firms for Architect-Engineering design services for an EHRM Infrastructure Upgrade project at the Veterans Affairs Saint Louis Health Care System in St. Louis, Missouri. The project scope involves network infrastructure installation, IT system renovations and upgrades, including improvements to electrical, HVAC, communications infrastructure, fiber connectivity, and security. Responses are due by January 11, 2023. The contract will be set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and is estimated between $10-20 million for design and construction management services over a 365 day period of performance. Evaluation criteria include specialized experience with similar IT and network upgrade projects, professional qualifications of staff, capacity to complete the work on schedule, and past performance. The secondary criterion is geographic proximity to the project site.

Contract drawings do not indicate location for building control panels. See the attached plans with the suggested locations. Each panel is 24"W x 36"H x 8"D and will be mounted at 36 inches above finished floor. Please confirm these locations are acceptable.
Date Answered: 02/28/2014Answer
We do not take any exception to these locations as long as the panels have been coordinated within the contractors BIM model and the locations are included on the final as-suilts.
The panels require 36-inches of front clearance and should meet the other National Electrical Code Article 110 requirements for electrical installations that are 600 volts or less. Other requirements are to allow full enclosure door opening swing, have working width as width of equipment or 30-inches whichever is greater. The working space height must be to the height of the equipment or a minimum of 6-1/2 feet whichever is greater.

Please refer to the attached sketches, Volume 1 drawing AE201 detail D1 for the south elevation, and Volume 1 AE202 detail D1 for the north elevation. Please clarify the dimensions of the steps in the foundation wall off of column lines for the south and north elevations.
Date Answered: 05/29/2013Answer
Dimensions shown on AE202 are to center line of joint. Precast wall edge is to line up with edge of concrete foundation wall allowing the 3/4" joint to be continuous where the adjacent precast wall runs down past the horizontal joint of the concrete foundation wall and precast wall above. Coordinate foundation wall and precast wall to ensure that joints line up as described.
See dimensional mark ups and notes with PDFs attached.
Please review previously issued SI 0004 (RFP D-011) as it directly relates to this RFI.

Subject: Future Generator Exhaust Damper
Drawing AE 101 Note 10 calls for a 10' high mechanical damper for the future generator exhaust, and states to "see mechanical drawings". There is no reference to a future generator damper on the mechanical or electrical drawings, and is not called out on the damper schedule. Please advise if a motorized damper is required.
Suggestion
Infill opening with metal studs and cover with sheet metal.
Date Answered: 04/10/2014Answer
A motorized damper is not required, infill the opening with 6” metal studs and cover both sides with 16 gauge galvanized sheet metal, wall to be flush with generator side of the opening.
