About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs for market research purposes regarding the procurement of a professional-grade body composition analyzer. The Government seeks to identify qualified vendors capable of providing the InBody 380 Body Composition Analyzer or an equivalent product meeting all specified salient characteristics. The anticipated NAICS code is 339112. This notice does not constitute a solicitation, commitment, or authorization to procure; the VA is not currently accepting quotes, bids, or proposals and will not reimburse any response costs. Responses will not influence vendor eligibility for future solicitations if issued.
The required equipment must utilize Direct Segmental Multi-Frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (DSM-BIA) technology and provide minimum measurement parameters including weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, percent body fat, BMI, BMR, total and segmented body water, segmental lean and fat analysis, visceral fat assessment, and multi-frequency impedance values. Operational requirements include test duration of 90 seconds or less, user-friendly interface with onboard screen, data output to printer or computer, USB/Bluetooth/software export capability, minimum 330-pound weight capacity, and AC adapter power. Physical requirements include a stable platform with integrated hand electrodes, compact portable design suitable for clinical environments, and minimum one-year manufacturer warranty. The device must be FDA-registered or compliant and meet all applicable electrical and safety standards. Vendors should submit company information, socioeconomic status, capability statements, technical documentation addressing each salient characteristic, product literature, delivery timeframe, applicable contract vehicles (GSA, SEWP, VA FSS), and warranty information via email to Matthew.Lee5@va.gov and Tommy.Haire@va.gov by June 24, 2026.
