Repair Interior and Extrior Community Center Facility, Bldg. 813

Amendement 2

1. Question: The fire alarm plans call for reusing the existing Monaco Fire Alarm Control

Panel. However, the existing fire alarm control panel is an Edwards LSS4-12 zoned system and is not compatible with the base system. I would suggest replacing the existing Edwards panel with a Monaco Voice system that is standard for the base.

Answer: The fire alarm system currently installed is not a Monaco FACP (Existing). It is an

Edwards as was mentioned in the question. Sheet E-502 should not mention (Existing) in reference to Monaco FACP. The base wants a complete Monaco fire alarm system which is compatible with the base-wide system per note 3 on sheet E-502. If any piece of equipment or device requires power such as a power supply or LOC, etc., the contractor must provide power to the device or piece of equipment. It is the contractor’s requirement to install a fully operational complete Monaco fire alarm system. This building does not have an existing Monaco fire alarm as suggested in note 1 of sheet E-502.

2. Question: Demolition plans call for removing the tile floor in rooms 1005 and 1008. Do you all know the thickness of the mortar bed under the tile? Is there an assumption that you want us to make for the thickness?

Answer: Unknown on each question

3. Question: Solicitation, Offer, and Award page 5, Statement of Work says “to design a new

HVAC system.” Mechanical drawings show a fully designed system. Is there any HVAC design required?

Answer: The HVAC system has been designed. In the event there are no details for certain equipment use the manufacturer’s installation manual for proper installation. All associated parts for installation will be the responsibility of the contractor to provide. There is also a requirement that before each refrigeration system is accepted, conduct tests to demonstrate the general operating characteristics of all equipment by a registered professional engineer or an approved manufacturer's start-up representative experienced in system start-up and testing, at such times as directed.

6. Question: Specification Section 055013 2.7 says bollards to be filled with 2500 psi while

8. Question: Drawing A-101 keynote 15 says Air Force Insignia to be provided by Contractor.

There are two locations (one interior and one exterior). Drawing 1/A-201 keynote 10 shows one exterior location where contractor shall carry $10,000 allowance for insignia. Does drawing 1/A-

201 keynote 10 apply to the interior location as well?

Answer: The interior is a different type of insignia and does not carry the $10,000 allowance.

The interior will be more of a decal type insignia.

9. Question: Drawing A-400 note 1 says “all signage by others.” Please verify this condition and its impact on the insignia requirements above. Is the GC required to provide any signage other than the insignia allowance?

Answer: The signage and insignia will be provided and installed by the contractor. All signage by others is not to be used.

10. Question: Drawing A-400 notes SN1 and SN2 to be installed per ADA requirements. Restroom

Accessories Schedule notes SND1 and SND2 instead. Are these the same thing?

Answer: Should be SND1 and SND2.

11. Question: Specification Section 310000 3.3.2 requires a Geotechnical Engineer to perform regular site visits and submit monthly reports. How many hours per week is the Geotechnical

Engineer required to be on site?

Answer: The responsibility falls under the base operation and support contractor. They have sub-contracted this requirement.

17. Question: Based on walk-through comments, where will the new gas line terminate? Please provide specification for gas piping if required as well as footage needed.

Answer: The new gas line will connect to the gas main all the way to building 813. The distance is approximately 800 feet. Contractor to verify. This requirement will be added to the SOW.
