About this file

This Statement of Need details the procurement requirements for a SSMD-2mm Solid State Media Disintegrator to support the 9 CS/IA. The device must be listed on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List and capable of physically destroying solid-state media like SIM cards, flash drives, circuit boards, smart phones, tablets, and optical media to a 2mm particle size. Essential qualifications include automatic push-button operation, an internal overload prevention mechanism, a bin-full sensor, easily replaceable destruction components, noise levels under 85 dB, a 3-stage air filtration system, and a lockable power switch.

Additional technical specifications require the device to have a footprint of no more than 30"W x 43"D x 49"H, weigh under 1,200 lbs, include castor wheels, operate on 200-240V single-phase power, and be manufactured in the United States in compliance with Executive Order 14005. The device must also feature Life-Extend destruction blades, grinders, and screens that can be easily reused, adjusted, and replaced, ensuring both operational efficiency and long-term usability for secure media destruction purposes.
