About this file

This is a Sole Source Information document for the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), District II-Batesville, regarding a sole source purchase for replacement parts and attachments for a Bridge Inspection Unit. The procurement seeks replacement components and attachments necessary to maintain the Bridge Inspection Unit's operational capability, which is utilized to perform annual bridge inspections in accordance with current ANSI requirements. The sole source justification identifies specific replacement parts and attachments required for continued equipment functionality and inspection compliance.

The document establishes the rationale for sole source procurement, indicating that the replacement parts and attachments are proprietary to the Bridge Inspection Unit manufacturer, making competition impractical or impossible. This procurement method allows MDOT to directly procure the necessary components without competitive bidding, streamlining the acquisition process for equipment-specific parts required to maintain inspection operations and regulatory compliance. The sole source determination supports continued operational efficiency of the Bridge Inspection Unit across District II facilities.
