About this file
This is a Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source document issued by the City of Fort Myers Procurement Services for reliable transmission service, parts, repairs, and service related to Allison Transmissions and related components. The City has identified Allison Transmission as the exclusive source for this product and service offering. The notice was released on August 20, 2026, with a submission deadline of September 7, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The posting remains active for fifteen calendar days, and any supplier believing they are capable of providing similar products or services must submit product information, statements of qualifications, and supporting documentation through the vendor questionnaire to the Purchasing Agent at kzimmerman@fortmyers.gov. No formal solicitation or submissions are required at this stage, and responses received will be considered solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
The City of Fort Myers is pursuing sole source procurement under the authority of Florida State Statute 287.057(3)(c) because the manufacturer warranty will be voided if any supplier other than Allison Transmission is used. This warranty protection requirement serves as the primary justification for the sole source acquisition method. The vendor questionnaire requires interested suppliers to confirm their understanding of the notice and upload supporting information demonstrating availability of similar products. Kirk Zimmerman, Senior Procurement Specialist, serves as the primary contact for this procurement, with the Department Head being Denise Finn, Procurement Manager.
