International Poverty Line: $1.90/day:

ICAN Target Populations fall in this area

Populations in this area may graduate into ICAN activities after initial humanitarian interventions

• Over 30% of the population lives below the international poverty line of $1.90/day.*

• 40% of the populations is considered vulnerable. This includes those living at or just above the poverty line in danger of backsliding into poverty.

• The majority of vulnerable populations are located in the Northern and Eastern parts of Uganda

• Refugee settlements are also considered vulnerable

*Graphic uses the International Poverty Line. National Poverty line is measured between $0.85 to $1.30/day depending on the region. This figure was used from 1993 data and has not been adjusted despite inflation.
