About this file
This amendment (0002) to solicitation 1305M225Q0028 extends the site visit window and provides responses to vendor questions for the NOAA Ship Fairweather steering system replacement procurement. The site visit opportunity is extended to January 29, 2025 (from the original January 15 end date), though the proposal response deadline remains unchanged.
The amended Statement of Work details requirements for a complete steering gear system including ABS Type-Approved actuators, hydraulic equipment, controllers, alarm panels, and indicators. Key specifications include: balanced spade rudders (2), 11'x4' rudder size, ±45° steering angle, 356,000 lb-in/40kNm design torque, and 22-second hard-over time. The system must be delivered to Ketchikan, AK by July 15, 2025 (within 26 weeks of award) and include a 12-month warranty post-installation. The contractor must provide on-site technical support during installation, training for up to 8 crew members, and unlimited data rights to the government. The system must be commercial-off-the-shelf, ABS approved, and compatible with the existing Sperry autopilot, with logistics support readily available in North America.
