Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs

STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)

(SOW)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Preventative Maintenance for three FLIPR high-throughput cell-based assay systems used by biologists across NCATS Division of Preclinical Innovation (DPI)

Statement of Need and Purpose:

The Molecular Devices Fluorometric Imaging Plate Reader (FLIPR) Tetra+ and Penta systems are high-throughput cell-based assay instruments used in drug discovery and cell signaling research at NCATS DPI.

Reliable operation and consistent performance of these systems are essential to ensure uninterrupted research. To maintain instrument reliability and accuracy, NCATS requires preventative maintenance and performance verification.

Background Information and Objective:

FLIPRs measure fluorescence changes in cells, reading entire microplates at once while adding compounds during reads to capture quick kinetic responses. In DPI Biology, the FLIPRs are essential tools in validating targets, testing candidate compounds, comparing potency and efficacy, all of which help us decide which compounds should advance to more complex studies.

Period of Performance:

One year performance period to begin upon award receipt.
