EXHIBIT FABRICATION SERVICES
EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK
1. PROJECT BACKGROUND
Everglades National Park was the first national park in the United States set aside solely for its biological resources rather than its scenic or historic values.
The Guy Bradley (formerly “Flamingo”) Visitor Center lies roughly 45 miles from the park’s gateway city of Homestead and roughly 80 miles from Miami. It is the park’s innermost coastal destination at the terminus of a long entrance road at the southern tip of mainland Florida. The park counts roughly 110,000 vehicles in the area annually, and the total park visitation across all districts is roughly one million annually. Nearby services and amenities include a campground, marina, and numerous recreational concessions. The park constructed this facility as part of the NPS Mission 66 program in the early 1960s.
It is on the National Register of Historic Places and contains numerous distinctive design elements, especially the “Miami Modern” style.
The structure incurred heavy damage from hurricanes in 2005 and 2017. The park’s administration has committed to renovating the structure as a visitor center. Construction has begun and is expected to reach completion in summer of 2021. Installation of the new exhibits will be one of the last steps prior to opening the new visitor center.
Due to the park’s high international profile, the high expectations of donors, and the long anticipation for this opening, the National Park Service seeks the highest quality of artistry, durability, and project management. The new exhibits are designed with multiple three-dimensional models and scenes. Exhibit fabricators will need to coordinate with a complex and lengthy building construction operation.
2. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The project shall be the fabrication and installation of new exhibits for the Guy Bradley Visitor Center at Everglades National Park (EVER) in Florida. The project includes coordination, via the appointed contracting officer’s representative (COR), with park staff, contracted exhibit designers, contracted architects, and contracted construction firms.
The contractor shall provide all services including labor, materials, facilities, and travel necessary to detail, fabricate, transport to the site, store temporarily on site, and install all exhibit elements in accordance with the specifications as detailed in this contract and its attachments.
All work under this contract shall be performed in accordance with the terms herein (including all attachments). The government shall furnish, as appropriate, required data, materials, and access to project information necessary to perform the planning and production of work as required.

2.2. Quality Control
The contractor shall provide quality control to ensure that all elements of project work meet the requirements of the contract specifications and that all modifications are implemented. The Project Manager shall provide routine inspections of in-house and subcontracted work to ensure it meets contract specifications and shall oversee the quality of work produced and implemented at all phases of the project. Any work found not acceptable or compliant with the specifications shall be corrected prior to inspection or review by the COR. The contractor shall oversee all work during installation to ensure that it adheres to contract specifications and schedule for completion. Ensure that all work not acceptable or compliant with the specifications is corrected prior to inspection or review by the COR.
2.3. Government Furnished Property
The contractor shall receive, inspect, and inventory all government-furnished materials and ensure that this material is forwarded to the appropriate unit or person within the contractor’s organization for use in the project. The Project Manager shall notify, in writing via email, the COR within seven (7) days after receipt if government-furnished materials are not satisfactory for their intended purpose. The Project Manager shall notify the COR via email as soon as possible, but no later than three (3) business days, if government-furnished materials are lost or damaged while in the contractor’s possession. The contractor shall be responsible for the security and protection of government-furnished property or materials in connection with this contract.
