US Embassy Managua Healthcare Solicitation Questions and Answers

Q:Are the current benefits similar to the benefit schedule in the solicitation?
A:Similar but not identical.
Q:If not what is the current benefit schedule?
A:I do not see the relevance of this question
Q:Could you provide the amount of medical services you paid to the hospital system for each of the last 3 years?
A:The embassy does not pay for individual medical treatments/services, nor do we review or process claims. The plan/contract is a flat bi-weekly rate for individuals and a flat bi-weekly rate for families (premiums) for all medical services provided under the benefit schedule, not on a cost or claim basis. The employees/dependents pay a percentage for the services over the counter. This percentage depends on the service and varies between the 20% and 50%. The service provider under the current contract is not obligated to provide the embassy with statistics on the cost of the medical services they provided. We are trying to obtain data on the quantity of various treatments/births/surgeries embassy personnel consumed. Once we receive that information we will send it to all prospective bidders and post it on FBO
Q:Lastly could you provide the number of single employees and the number of employees with a family plan for each year you provide the amount of medical services?
A:This information has already been provided to the greatest extent possible
