About this file
This document is a comprehensive set of technical specifications and contract documents for the Orange County Courthouse Smoke Control Repair project, involving SGM Engineering and Orange County, Florida. The project focuses on repairing and upgrading the existing smoke control system, with work to be performed at 425 North Orange Avenue in Orlando. Key components include replacing smoke control dampers, damper position switches, interface relays between the fire alarm and building automation systems, and correcting BAS programming to restore the system to its original design configuration. The project requires contractors to provide all necessary permits, testing, documentation, and coordination with county facilities management, with work to be completed during non-business hours to minimize disruption to courthouse operations.
The estimated project cost is not explicitly stated in the specifications, but the related contract opportunity document indicates a total project budget of $3,200,000.00 for a broader Courthouse Complex Mechanical & Fire Protection Upgrades Phase 1C. Bidders are required to submit electronic responses through the OpenGov e-Procurement Platform by 4:00 pm EST on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The project involves strict security protocols, including background checks for all vendor personnel, restricted site access, and compliance with Orange County's facilities management requirements. Contractors must provide comprehensive documentation, including as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and training for owner personnel, with a focus on maintaining the existing building's functionality and safety systems throughout the renovation process.
