About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation C26-015 concerning the installation of a high-pressure air compressor.
The contractor is responsible for providing all equipment and labor necessary to offload the compressor from the delivery truck, lower it into the basement well, transport it through the mechanical room, and position it on the installation pad. No forklift is available for use due to space constraints in the mechanical room. The contractor must supply all electrical wiring and equipment to connect the compressor to the existing electrical disconnect switch on the wall, with the government providing prior installation of equipment up to the disconnect switch. Additionally, the contractor must provide all necessary piping, fittings, and connections to integrate the compressor with the building's air system and cooling water supply, which are located adjacent to the pad. The cooling water temperature specification is 48 ± 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Picture requests from potential bidders include images of the crane area, measurements along the path to the pad area, and photographs of the electrical box's exterior and interior to determine wire size requirements. All installation requirements are detailed in section 3.2 of the Statement of Work.
